Meet the Team

Orvin “Tinker” Kiser is Owner of the Homerun Club.  He held the single season saves record at Virginia Tech for over 20 years.  He was a single A relief pitcher for both the Texas Rangers and Toronto Blue Jays.  Tinker has been a youth baseball coach for 36 years and brought the Stuarts Draft Diamondbacks to the Rockingham County League who won there first championship in the 2012 season and then repeated in 2013 finally obtaining the 3peat in 2014. Tinker is one of 3 NPA certified pitching coaches in the state of Virginia.

Denny Walling  is a former Major League Baseball player. Walling played all or part of eighteen seasons in the majors, from 1975 to 1992. He played his most games as a third baseman, but also saw significant time as an outfielder and first baseman. Walling may be best known as a pinch-hitting specialist for the Houston Astros. Nicknamed “Good Wood”, Walling was a valuable bat off the bench for most of his career. Entering the 2009 season, his 108 career pinch hits are tied for 13th all-time. He hit .271 out of 2,945 lifetime at bats.  After his playing career ended, Walling remained in baseball as a coach. In the major leagues, he has served as the hitting coach for the Athletics from 1996 until 1998, and for the New York Mets from 2002 until 2004. In both positions, he served under manager Art Howe, who was his teammate in Houston. In 2007, he was hired by the Orioles as their roving minor league hitting instructor, Walling currently serves as the AAA hitting instructor for the Baltimore Orioles.


Seth Berry is the Manager of the Homerun Club. He played four years of varsity baseball, beginning with a state championship appearance with St. Annes Belfield. Seth then played under Bo Bowers at Wilson Memorial and was selected first team All-State as a second baseman and first team All-Region as a pitcher. Seth finished high school at The Covenant School where he was again selected first team All-State. He then went on to play at Tusculum College and Eastern Mennonite University.  Seth has continued educating himself while working at the Homerun Club.  He has obtained a certification in personal training through the NCSF, a certification in pitching biomechanics through the NPA, and has become fully knowledgeable on the human shoulder by completing Eric Cressey’s Elite Baseball Mentorship.  Currently Seth enjoys the fact that he is the only original Stuarts Draft Diamondback.
